Resume:

Professional and Experiential Growth

My experiences in both clinical and community settings have been central to shaping my aspirations in healthcare. Working as a Clinical Assistant at Athens Area Urology and as a Medical Assistant at William C. McGarity Internal Medicine gave me first-hand exposure to patient care across diverse populations. I learned how to balance empathy with efficiency, whether it was preparing patients for exams, performing lab tests, or communicating results to providers. These roles deepened my understanding of the importance of patient relationships and sparked my commitment to pursuing a career as a physician assistant, where I can combine clinical skill with personal connection.

In addition to my medical experience, working in customer service and childcare roles, from Village Threads Boutique to years of nannying, taught me patience, adaptability, and interpersonal communication. These experiences, while not clinical, helped me develop a sense of attentiveness and compassion that carries into every aspect of my professional life.

Volunteer and Community Engagement

Volunteering with Extra Special People (ESP) has been one of my most impactful experiences. Supporting children and young adults with disabilities taught me how meaningful inclusive, joyful environments can be for both participants and volunteers. Similarly, through Oasis Tutoring, I’ve had the privilege of helping Spanish-speaking elementary students strengthen their academic confidence, which has deepened my appreciation for language and cultural understanding in healthcare communication.

Global Experience

My participation in VAW Global Health Alliances has been transformative, offering me the chance to merge my passion for travel, service, and medicine. In the Dominican Republic and Peru, I worked alongside local physicians in mobile clinics, assisting with vitals, patient education, and community health lessons. I witnessed how limited access to care impacts health outcomes and was inspired by the resourcefulness of healthcare teams serving under-resourced areas. As an Executive Board Member for the Peru trip, I was able to take on a leadership role, coordinating training, organizing logistics, and mentoring peers, which has strengthened my confidence in both teamwork and initiative.

Leadership and Campus Involvement

At the University of Georgia, my involvement extends beyond the classroom. Serving as a Panhellenic Recruitment Counselor allowed me to mentor incoming students and help them navigate an important transition in their college journey. Within Chi Omega, I’ve contributed to recruitment and community events that emphasize connection and leadership. I’m also active in the Pre-PA Club and Christian Medical and Dental Association, where I continue to learn from healthcare professionals who integrate compassion and faith into their practice.

Reflection

Together, these experiences have given me a broader view of what it means to serve others, locally and globally, and have reaffirmed my desire to pursue a career in medicine focused on accessible, compassionate care. Each role, from tutoring and volunteering to working in clinics, has helped me grow into someone who values empathy, teamwork, and lifelong learning in every environment.
